The Task Force on the Regulation of Financial Intermediaries was an independent Task Force appointed by the Minister of Commerce to review the regulation of financial intermediaries. These web pages were developed by the Task Force and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the Ministry of Economic Development.

The Role of the Task Force and Your Involvement

The Minister of Commerce (then the Hon Margaret Wilson) appointed the Task Force to consider and report on the regulation of financial intermediaries. The Task Force's terms of reference required it to consider options for reform that would (1) ensure quality financial information and advice is provided to the public and (2) assist New Zealanders to make the most of their savings.

If you have any questions about the Task Force, email financialadvisers@med.govt.nz or call 0508 TASKFORCE (0508 827 536).
